As the Rain Pours
By Harry Wang
Rainy days are filled with a rhythm
Maybe a peaceful static
A crashing tide
Monotonous symphony
Quiet inside
An oasis of sorts
Shielding from storm
The light tap of rainwater
Falling, on my roof
A heavenly home
Lively, and yet aloof
The place called outside
So different and cold
A bitter air
Icy
Strong
The world is dark
A pitch black night
The trees are bent
By waves of wind
The occasional boom
By the cries of rain
Blowing, gasping
Blowing, whistling
After chaos comes peace
And so it separates
The darkness on canvas
Painted away
Replaced by the clouds
Replaced by the day
The world is bright
And darkness fades
A with the holes in the skies
A sun breaks through
The skies alight
